SEO Questions And Answers
11 What is Keyword proximity?
Ans:

It measures the distance between two keywords in the text. Keyword proximity is used by some search engines to measure relevancy of a given page to the search request. The idea is that the closer two keywords to each other are, the more relevant the page , keyword density measures how many times (not how far) a given keyword appears on a page.

12 If you were a SEO for a technology web site, what would you do to build backlinks for it?
Ans: Four practices are a quite legal and recommendable way of building backlinks are.

a)  Post in technology blogs.
b)  Submit articles to technology engines.
c)  Exchange links with other reputable technology web sites.
d)  Provide free syndicated content to partner-websites.
13 What is Keyword Difficulty?
Ans:

Keyword difficulty identifies how difficult it would be to rank well for a particular keyword. and the value is higher for more popular words because it will be more difficult to compete with 1,000s of other sites for a popular word than with 10s of others for the less popular ones

14

Which of the options below is the best way to select the keywords to optimize for?

Ans:

Use a tool to determine the theme of your web site, because it is the whole theme of a website that is more important than separate keywords. Selecting competitors keywords which have the highest density  is not recommendable because if your competitor has wrongly selected the keywords, or even if the keywords are right for them, this does not mean that they are right for you, so actually you get on the wrong trace from the very beginning.

15 You have enough quality inbound links with the keywords in the anchor text but still you do not rank well in Google, even for your site name. What will you do?
Ans:

Try with variations of the anchor text. See if the targets on your site have not been damaged (i.e. renamed, or deleted, or moved) by mistake. Check if you have more outbound than inbound links. When you are stuck with lower ratings because the anchor text from different places to yours is suspiciously the same, because no matter that you have tons of quality inbound links, if you have many outbound links (or you are a link farm), this outweighs the inbound links.

Add more inbound links is wrong If you don't lack quality inbound links, adding some more will hardly help. It is true that quality backlinks are always valuable but since you have enough of them, then something else must be wrong

If inbound links don't help, adding more keywords in other places is  wrong because since you already have enough keywords in anchor text, where they weigh most, adding more keywords will hardly help much unless you don't have a single keyword in other place.

16 If your potential customer asks you for advice about what is wrong with his web site. After having a look at the web site, you notice that it has good keyword density but still it does not rank well. What are the next aspects of SEO that you need to check in order to ensure that the web site is properly SEO optimized?
Ans:

Make sure that there are enough inbound links to it. Make sure that the anchor text of inbound links has the right keywords. Submit the web site to DMOZ if your web site is not already available there. Inbound links from respected sites are very important for SEO success, especially when the anchor text has the right keywords. Search directories and especially DMOZ are also very important, so it does not hurt to submit the web site there. Having more outbound links is not better and in many cases it is even worse for SEO results, Old content is not an issue for search engines, so you'd better keep it there, especially if it is relevant to the site theme.

17 Explain onsite search box, and how it helps to attract traffic ?
Ans:

An onsite search box allows to search for pages that are inaccessible to unregistered users (i.e. search engine spiders). When you have an onsite search box, your visitors will get more search results than in comparison to using Google and the other search engines. If you have an onsite search box and see what users are searching for, you will be able to notice new keywords that are of interest to your audience.

Using the “site:” operator in search engines makes onsite search boxes obsolete is false because generally search engines do not index every single page of a site, even if these pages are not disallowed in the robots.txt or are password-protected. A good onsite search box is really valuable but it is a fact that occasionally onsite search boxes use so imprecise algorithms that using the “site:” operator in Google gives much more reliable results.

18 Does it make sense to register the domain early, when you are not ready with the site itself?
Ans:

Yes, early registration helps to have a mature site sooner and we  will have to wait less time  to  get out of the sandbox, by registering early, the site will get older sooner and since the age of the domain is important, this will help. . Early registration of a new domain is related to getting out of the sandbox sooner and reaching the age when a domain is not treated like a new one

Having in mind the current price of new domains, waiting for the site to be ready and then buying the domain could save any one few couple of cents only.

19

What are the advantages of submitting sites to search directories?

Ans:

By submitting to a search directory, you get a back link to your web site. When your site is listed in search directories, this increases the chances that search engines will index it sooner, compared to when it is not listed. Submitting to search directories is a good Web marketing initiative. because  that increases the chances of having your web site index and when your site is listed in a search directory, you list its URL as well, so you actually get a valuable link

Submitting to search directories  neither gets higher ranking nor gets your web site certified.
20 You have just finished optimizing your client web site and asked your client to check for the results, instead of congratulations, you hear the question: “ I don't see the results you told me about! I see different results!” What will you explain to your client?
Ans: You see different results because you have been served by one of the 80 data centers of Google, It is an internal Google matter and none of us can do anything to change it. Very often, search engine  results change at different times of day because the crawlers are constantly adding and removing web  pages from the index This is because you are in Europe and I am in the united States. Google tends to show local results before the rest, but since most of your clients are in the States, chances are that they will see what I see, not the Europe-specific results in your browser
